Over the Influence is pleased to showcase US artist Thomas Linder’s debut show Strangers at the Los Angeles gallery. The exhibition signifies a new direction for the artist, featuring works created in the past year. This series explores an entirely new medium and concept for Linder, whose practice was shaken up and turned on its head in the last year. In a move away from his prior work, this series is more representative of his personality and sense of humor- the approach is less academic, and more intuitive. He combines elements of surprise with comedy to explore the tensions that are created by pairing unexpected images and materials together.
Over the Influence is pleased to present Floaters, a solo exhibition with Brooklyn-based artist Michael Dotson. The collection of new works came about over a period of 8 years where he created 200 some sketches on photoshop. In this new collection of works Michael Dotson brings his signature fluid and anthropomorphic style of painting into a new dimension.
